The Prattville Swim League Competes in the Southeastern Swimming Championships

The Prattville YMCA Swimming Team (Prattville Swim League – PSL) recently competed in the Southeastern Swimming Championships consisting of over 40 teams and 800 swimmers from Alabama, Tennessee, and the panhandle of Florida.  PSL sent six swimmers: Bo Bindewald, Lannom Bowman, Chase Woodard, Anna-Claire Murdock, Emmy Wesch, and Hoyt Hatch. 

Finishes in the top 16:

  • Hoyt Hatch, 10 & U Boys – 12th in 200 Yard freestyle
  • Anna-Claire Murdock, senior girls – 16th in 50 breastroke
  • Emmy Wesch, 13-14 girls – 13th in 100 backstroke, 4th in 50 backstroke
  • Chase Woodard, 13-14 boys – 8th in 50 butterfly, 6th in 100 breastroke, 10th in 50 freestyle, 5th in 200 breastroke, 5th in 50 breastroke, and 6th in 100 butterfly

Woodard continues his epic swimming career, this time as the highest scoring 13-year-old boy in all southeastern swimming.  Notable too was Lannom Bowman’s 100 butterfly; with a time of 52.67 seconds, he qualified to compete in the YMCA national championships in Greensboro, NC this April.

PSL is a year-round competitive swimming team that competes in USA swimming, YMCA swimming, and Alabama Parks and Recreation swimming.  The summer season will begin in mid-May.  New swimmers can join the team after being evaluated by the coaching staff.  For information about PSL contact the Prattville YMCA, 365-8852.
