From: Millbrook Police Department
On July 1, 2026, Millbrook police responded to the 400 block of Deatsville Highway with regard to Breaking and Entering a Vehicle and Theft of Property. Upon arrival, responding officers were advised that the victim and her husband were in the process of moving. When the victims returned to their vehicle, they discovered a cellular phone and wallet had been removed from their vehicle.
After the initial report was completed, a GPS locator associated with the victim’s phone would later indicate that the stolen phone was active at a nearby apartment. Officers would make contact with a suspect, who denied having the victim’s property. After being questioned by officers, the alleged suspect, later identified as Dri’ Ques Holloway, a 20-year-old Millbrook resident, would later return the victim’s property.
The alleged offender was taken into custody, transported to the Millbrook Police Department, where he was interviewed by detectives with the Millbrook Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit. Holloway was placed under arrest, being charged with Receiving Stolen Property 2nd Degree, as well as an additional charge of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, having been found with contraband on his person. Holloway was processed and later transported to the Elmore County Jail, where he was turned over to jail staff without incident.
This is yet another example of why law enforcement is constantly warning the public with regard to securing their vehicles and property. The majority of property crimes committed, such as the offense alleged in this case, are crimes of opportunity. We were extremely fortunate in this case. The victim had a GPS locator associated with their phone, which allowed our officers to locate the alleged offender shortly after the initial offense was committed.
