Local resident arrested on 10 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material

From: Chief P.K. Johnson

Millbrook Police Department

In September of 2025, the Millbrook Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit initiated an investigation after receiving multiple cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children concerning suspected Child Sexual Abuse Material actively occurring on a local Electronic Service Provider platform.

Pursuant to an investigation, Jabari Corbitt, an 18-year-old Millbrook resident, was developed as a suspect in this case. Corbitt was interviewed by Millbrook detectives, at which time he admitted to possessing Child Sexual Abuse Material on two separate devices. Both devices were seized as physical evidence and a search warrant for said devices was obtained.

A forensic analysis was conducted on both devices, with multiple instances of Child Sexual Abuse material being located. The complexity of the forensic process required an extended period of time to complete. Once completed, the case was presented to the Elmore County Grand Jury for consideration. Corbitt was indicted on (10) counts of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material during the June session of the Elmore County Grand Jury.

On July 6, 2026, Millbrook detectives, assisted by the department’s Street Crimes Unit, located the alleged offender, Corbitt, at his residence, where he was taken into custody without incident. Corbitt was turned over to the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office and booked into the Elmore County Jail under a $150,000 bond.

Detectives from the Millbrook Police Department are part of the Alabama Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC). This agency actively investigates ICAC-related crimes. Our detectives and officers take their roles protecting our citizens seriously, particularly our young people. While it’s both deplorable and a shame that material like this exist and is available for consumption, I’m extremely thankful that there are men and women that stand at the ready to investigate crimes like this and do what is necessary to apprehend and prosecute individuals that foster and participate in these types of criminal offenses.
